The aim of our College uniform:

 

  • To promote equality amongst all students.
  • To further develop a sense of pride in and identification with our school environment.
  • To provide durable clothing that is cost effective and practical for our school environment. 
  • To maintain and enhance the positive image of the school in the community.

Our College uniform policy applies during school hours, while travelling to and from school (without any additional non-uniform jackets or hats) and when students are on school excursions.

UNIFORM POLICY

 

PURPOSE

A uniform dress code reinforces in students a pride in their own appearance, instils recognition of themselves as an integral part of the school community and assists in developing pride in representing their school. Issues of quality, health and safety and expense are also factors, which contribute to the establishment of the Uniform Policy.

IMPLEMENTATION

After consultation with the school community and the Student Representative Council, School Council has developed a Uniform Policy that we believe provides choice for the students, allows for students to safely engage in the many varied school activities, and caters for the financial constraints of families.

The Uniform Policy applies during school hours, while travelling to and from school (without any additional non-uniform jackets or hats) and when students are on school excursions.

  • Summer and winter uniforms and sports uniform are required to be worn. Sports uniform is only to be worn during Physical Education, and when representing the College at sporting
  • The only acceptable shoes are traditional black leather, polishable, lace up or slip on school shoes. Vans, T-bars, Globes, Volleys, Nike and the like are not permitted.
  • Limited, discreet* jewellery; a set of studs/sleepers, a watch, a bracelet, a ring and/or a necklace which should be tucked under uniform, are acceptable. See additional notes
  • One facial piercing with jewellery (clear/gold/silver, discreet* stud or small barbell-balls no larger than 2mm for eyebrow piercing) is permitted. No facial rings of any kind. Additional piercings must be fitted with a clear stud. See additional notes
  • Extreme hair colours or extreme hairstyles are not permitted. Hair must be tied in an appropriate manner for practical subjects, or when requested by the
  • Minimal natural makeup is permitted and fake eyelashes are not permitted.
  • Finger nails must be short and nail polish is not permitted. Excessively long fingernails and/or fake nails are not permitted.

Limited jewellery indicates students should not be wearing multiple of each of the above-mentioned jewellery items.

Discreet* jewellery is of small size and not overly visible. Practical subjects and activities may require jewellery items to be removed for Occupational Health and Safety reasons. Students are expected to comply with any such requirements for the duration of the lesson/activity. Any jewellery item deemed not discreet or exceeding a limited amount, by the relevant House Leader or Principal class member, will be required to be removed for the duration of the school day. The school accepts no responsibility for the loss, damage and/or injury caused due to the wearing of any of any jewellery items.
