Our wellbeing program is ensures all students are able to access learning and we acheive this through a range of different strateiges at the whole cohort, small group and individual level. This includes presentations from external stakeholders such as the Victorian police and expert presenters in the areas of: Cyber Safety, Personal Safety in the Community, Best Approaches to Sitting Exams, Personal Relationships, Road Safety and Intrinsic Motivation.
We recognise the power of connection and run a number of smaller group programs, as well as extra curricula activities that build student connection to the college, their peers and the wider community. Additionalyl we do provide 1:1 Support services for Individual students.
As a school we are continuously seeking to engage in best practice and have a number of partnerships with providers that help us support our young people and deliver on our objectives of ensuring all students feel safe and confident to try their very best.

‘Providing opportunities within the classroom for students to attempt challenging work, supporting them through productive struggle, to then experience success and to celebrate that success impacts positively on a student’s confidence, resilience and wellbeing.’ |
SWPBS
School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) at Carrum Downs Secondary College aims to promote and acknowledge positive behaviours across all environments of the College and seek opportunities to teach and reward positive behaviours whenever possible. As a school we have commenced work with our community to implement the SWPBS framework. This work has led to the development of a series of SWPBS Matrices that have been created to clearly indicate to students and staff the expected behaviours in different areas of the College. These can be used as a reference point to discuss unwanted behaviours with students when they are observed in an attempt to teach students the desired behaviour. We have also reviewed our college values as part of this process, and have identified the values of respect, integrity and effort that will underpin the SWPBS framework.
STARs
Students can receive a STAR ticket from any staff member to acknowledge positive behaviour. Once students have received 5 STARs, they can use their tickets to purchase items at the STAR Shop at lunch time. Some example items are; chocolates/lollies, pizza lunch, shadowing a teacher, free dress day for you or your whole class.
