Mountain Biking

The Carrum Downs 'Aspire Mountain Biking Program' is focused on engaging students through the sport of Mountain Biking. The program caters to all abilities commencing with the junior program which encompasses the basics of safe riding and bike maintenance. In Year 9 and 10 students tackle our program as a co-curricular elective. After Years 9 and 10 this can segway into senior pathways such as VET Sport and Recreation and VCE Outdoor Education.

Currently the intention is to run the program as follows:

  • Year 7-8: After school sessions as well as incorporated excursions on scheduled days throughout the year.
  • Year 9-10: As part of our elective blocks.

We are fortunate to be located close to the Red Hill trails and to Lysterfield (which includes the former Commonwealth Games Mountain Bike Track). Whilst CDSC is able to supply access to a Mountain Bike, there is a small cost to cover the various excursions to these venues.
