Student Leadership

At Carrum Downs Secondary College, we value the role of student voice in the learning process and strive to provide a platform for students to share their ideas and contribute to decisions relating to their education. Our student leaders value their role in this process, elevating their voice as they contribute to the fabric of our school.

Our dedicated leadership program provides students with the opportunity to collaborate with peers from various year levels to develop their own school initiatives. Student leaders are encouraged to reflect on their own development, in order to build skills such as effective communication, confidence in presenting and public speaking, and problem solving.

Led by our four incredible school captains, our senior leaders from Years 10-12 take on key responsibilities in the areas of House, Learning, Sports, Arts and Community. We also have junior leaders in Years 8 -9 who benefit from a range of experiences, working closely with our senior captains across all areas, and in their chosen areas of interest.

The student leadership team is proud to be involved with:

  • Harmony Week
  • R U OK? Day
  • Community partnerships
  • School assemblies
  • Leadership conferences
  • International Women’s Day activities
  • Primary school workshops
