Select Entry Accelerated Learning (SEAL) Program

In 2027 CDSC has been granted provisional approval to deliver a Select Entry Accelerated Learning (SEAL) Program. The SEAL Program will commence at Year 7 in 2027, with SEAL Pathway offerings available across Year 7-12.

The purpose of our SEAL Program is:

  • to cater to the needs of high ability students through acceleration and extension, enabling them to access post-secondary pathways earlier and
  • to nurture student's love of learning

SEAL at CDSC offers students who are excelling in specific academic areas the opportunity to:

  • Work with other high performing students.
  • Engage with higher education and employment pathways (such as visiting universities, CSIRO, Parliament).
  • Participate in academic competitions and events (debating, Westpac Maths Competition, short story competitions etc).
  • Work with distinguished alumni, academics and community leaders to develop their skills, knowledge and understanding in specific areas of interest.
  • Access subjects in earlier year levels (including VCE subjects).
  • Attend tailored 'Scholars' camps, excursions and incursions.
  • Gain support from an academic mentor.

Year 10-12 SEAL

The CDSC SEAL offerings recognise that individual students will excel in different areas. The SEAL offerings are focused on identifying students who are excelling in a particular area and working with the individual student to foster and nurture their talents to support them to continue to excel.

Each individual Year 10-12 SEAL offering is open to all students across the college, subject to eligibility requirements, with a range of opportunities offered across all Year levels.

Students in the SEAL Program have automatic access to all aspects of our SEAL offerings.
